One highlight.  We went to the Provo Temple on Saturday and saw Elder Holland.  Another tender mercy.  We are being blessed.
Monday, November 19  We are now in the second week at the MTC and are into the office training on the computers, so I am able to get on the internet.  We passed the "Teach My Gospel" training which was the entire first week.  We learned alot and had great teachers and taught several lessons ourselves.  We even had investigators.  I will admit I had a hard first couple of days and the tears flowed, but many tender mercies seemed to occur when I was at my lowest.  One speaker said that when she had to give her first talk in Spanish and sat down when she was finished, she told her husband, "I can't do this."  That was what I'd been saying.  Then she said, "I learned I can do hard things, but I can't without the hlep of my Father in Heaven."  That taught me where to go.  Jerry learned a new motto when the MTC Mission President said that once President Hinckley said, "You're the best we have - actually, you're all we have."  Then he told us to "Lengthen our Shuffle."  Jerry laughed and said he could relate to that.  I have a new favorite scripture.  Go look up John 8:29.  This quote from the Savior now has new meaning for me.  We have met a couple going to take care of the camp grounds in our mission.  They will be living in campers and trailers.  I became very grateful.  Then we met a couple whose best friend is the other office couple in our mission and just praised them and said how much we would enjoy them.  So you see I'm getting lots of encouragement.  Wish us luck this week with the computers.  Hopefully we won't be sent home for incompetence.  We'll I'll keep you updated.

November 9, 2012  -  We have offically started on our mission.  President Jensen set up apart.  What a great experience with encouragment and promises.  What made it even better was to have two sons lay their hands on your head and support the blessings uttered. Pools and Castagnetos were there too.  We have great friends supporting us.  They know Carolyn needs the most support to endure and Jerry to be healthy.  Sunday we head to the MTC and I'll report again.
